The People's Mosquito

I have had the honour of being made a team member on The People's Mosquito project. The aim of this crazy but well overdue project is to rebuild and restore a de Havilland Mosquito to flying condition and donate it to the RAF - just as people did during WWII - where we hope it might live with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

It's been too long since we had an airworthy Mosquito - the last time I saw one flying was at IWM Duxford in about 1995 - and with the public's help we aim to change that. To find out more please visit the website at www.peoplesmosquito.org.uk. Or you can follow our Facebook page or follow the project on Twitter.

Please join us as we need all the help we can get. In the first twenty-four hours we had around 200 followers on Twitter - which was fantastic - but a drop in the ocean to what we need to acheive this. So please join us and tell all your friends and family. We are doing this to honour those who served to fight tyranny during those very hard years over half a century ago, and we can only achieve this with the public's help.

Thank you and a Happy New Year.
