Dragonheart - "Video Killed The Radio Star" Music Promo

When Cardiff-based all-girl singing group Dragonheart released their cover of the famous Buggles hit "Video Killed The Radio Star" they were looking for a promo that would grab the attention of their target audience of pre-teen and teenage kids. The result is a very glitzy, bling and fun video.

The record company presented the production team with a fairly concise storyboard, with little room for manouvre. My challenge was to make sure that the resulting imagery lived up to the band's and the record company's expectations.

Shot over two days, this was a fairly tight production, with no time or budget for re-shoots. So we had to get it right first time. Which we did. The artists were very happy with the end result. Disappointingly, after the video had been finished, the record company decided to rethink their marketing strategy for the band and a different version of the video was cut.
